Prescription:

CYPROHEPTADINE (Periactin) blocks histamine and serotonin and is usually taken 2 to 3 times a day to relieve seasonal and year-round allergy symptoms.

Inform your Physician if you have any of the following conditions:

• bronchial asthma or chronic obstructive lung disorder (COPD);
• glaucoma;
• hypertension or heart disorder;
• biliary disorder;
• other chronic sickness;
• prostate gland disorder;
• ail or difficulty passing urine;
• ulcerations or other abdomen disorders;
• expectant or trying to get pregnant;
• lactating.

Application Method:

• cyproheptadine is for oral use only;
• stick to the instructions on the prescription leaflet;
• endeavor to consume your drug at the same time daily.

Dose Skipped or Missed:

It is significant that you recollect consuming your dose daily. If you omit a dose, consume it as soon as you are able to. If you don't recollect until the following day, contact your physician or healthcare professional for details.

The following side-effects can be noticed while taking Cyproheptadine:

If you feel the side effects, mentioned below, you shall apprize your physician as soon as possible: 

• excitement, jitteriness, irritability, unable to sleep (these are more probable in kids);
• blurred vision;
• giddiness or conking spells;
• atypical pulse, shakings, or chest pain;
• ail or trouble passing urine;
• captures (paroxysms).

  If you feel the side effects, mentioned below, you shall contact your physician but they are not so harmful:

• sleepiness, giddiness, xerostomia;
• headache;
• loss of appetite;
• upset stomach, sickness, vomiting, astriction or looseness of the bowels.

Pay much attention while consuming Cyproheptadine:

Call on your physician or doctor for regular health checks. Inform your physician or doctor if your symptoms do not get better. If you have hypertension, control your blood pressure on a regular basis. Enquire your doctor what your blood pressure should be, and when you should contact them. 

You could get yawning or airheaded. Don't drive, use machinery, or do anything that demands brain alertness until you know how this drug affects you. Don't stand or sit up rapidly, particularly if you are an aged patient. This diminishes the risk of airheaded or passing out spells. Alcoholic beverages may interfere with the effect of this drug. Obviate alcoholic drinks. 

Cyproheptadine may induce dry eyes and blurred visual sensation. If you wear contacts you may feel some irritation. Lubricating drops may assist. Call on your eye doctor if the issue doesn't disappear or is grave.

Storage Instructions:

Exclude the reach of kids. Maintain storage temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F. Discard any unused drug after the expiry date.
